Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN)
Job Specialty: Operating Room (OR)
Job Duration: 17 weeks
Shift: 10-hour days, 7 AM - 3 PM with on-call
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience: Minimum of 2 years
License: Active RN License
Certifications: BLS, ACLS
Must-Have:
- Reliability and good attendance
- Flexibility and ability to be here to serve a need
- Basic competency in almost every service related to the OR
Job Description:
- Work in an Operating Room with 19 suites, handling approximately 55-60 cases per day, totaling around 1000 per month.
- Utilize the Meditech EMR system for charting and documentation.
- Collaborate with charge nurse/nurse manager and OR techs; must be a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST).
- Adhere to a strict 30-minute call response time.
- Weekend coverage required approximately once a quarter.
- On-call requirement for RNs is generally every 7th weekend, with no weekday calls.
- Part of specialty teams taking call every night for ortho/neuro and cardio/thoracic, if within competency.
- Rotate in with permanent staff for holiday coverage; flexibility is required.
- Scrub color provided; scrubbing for RNs preferred but not required.
- Full-service facility handling various cases except major pediatrics, transplants, and main OR c-sections. Facility functions as a level 2 trauma center.
- One week of floor-specific orientation provided.
- Engage with surgeons on call 24/7 for their cases.
- Utilize 24/7 available resources: RT and pharmacy. No floating required.
Candidates must submit skills checklist accurately reflecting experience and proficiency. A flexible, reliable, and team-oriented mindset is essential for success in this role, as is the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
