The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
Responsibilities:
GENERAL PURPOSE:
Completes defined scope and standards of practice. Engages in environmental scanning to identify practice gaps and collaborates with others in improving practice and healthcare outcomes. Functions as a learning facilitator, change agent, mentor, leader, champion for scientific inquiry, advocate for Nursing Professional Development (NPD) specialty, and partner for practice transitions. Supports learning, change, professional role competence and growth, which ultimately lead to optimal patient care, population health, and protection of the public.
FT position available (40 hours), primarily days with some off-shift and on-call requirements
This candidate will work to assess, design/develop, implement, and evaluate programs and initiatives at the unit level ensuring all regulatory requirements are met. The main areas of focus will include, but are not limited to: staff education and professional development, practice standards review, onboarding new staff, nurse residency coordination, competency updating, teaching/in-services, collaboration with local nursing schools for capstone placement, as well as monitoring and developing action plans to improve quality metrics. The candidate must be able to demonstrate strong organizational skills as well as the ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required. Thoracic surgery experience required. Master's degree completed or in progress required.
