What will the Senior ESS Architect do?
You will work in a fast-paced environment where you will take a hands-on approach to helping a federal agency with its nationwide Physical Security Program Office (Program). You will lead a team of engineering professionals to develop standards and tools and to architect security solutions that ensure that the Program complies with complex federal and agency mandates. You will have the opportunity to work on intricate systems integrations and help the client recover from critical systems failures. Best of all, you'll get to grow your experience while working alongside smart people to solve problems that make the world a safer, more efficient place.
Note: This is a hybrid position. The Senior ESS Architect will be onsite 3 days a week.

What does a typical day look like for the Senior ESS Architect?
The person in this position will do the following:
- Define and draft strategic and operational policies, standards, and procedures in accordance with Federal Identity, Credential, and Access Management (FICAM) and Program requirements
- Define system architecture and create a strategic roadmap for enterprise security solutions
- Provide technical guidance to clients and to internal engineering staff
- Present guidance and support to Program stakeholders on emerging federal policies
- Offer industry best practices and lessons learned from federal engagement past performance
- Maintain knowledge of current-generation technology and assist the client with the maintenance and replacement of end-of-life systems
What qualifications do you look for?
You might be the Senior ESS Architect we're looking for if you have:
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a government clearance (or you have recently held a government clearance)
- At least a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 12+ years of total experience in the security industry, 8 years of which includes performing proactive federal agency ICAM architecture planning and implementation activities
- Experience successfully interpreting and applying FIPS 201-2, HSPD-12, OMB memorandums, NIST publications (800-116-1, 800-53, 800-73-4), and CIO Council papers
- The ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders to:
- Define standards and controls per facility type,
- Draft Scopes of Work to be used by procurement officials for solicitations and RFIs,
- Standardize Technical Drawing Packages,
- Ensure standardization of equipment and configuration management, and
- Define requirements for facility assessments and site inspections
- Prior experience serving as a Team Lead for engineering resources specializing in PACS/PIV, VMS, IDS, and Networking
- During client site visits, one must be able to: (1) move throughout the building to access equipment, (2) position self to review installed equipment, (3) move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, and (4) inspect sites to detect security concerns.
We're extra impressed by folks with:
- An active government clearance
- Hands-on experience with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of FICAM-compliant Physical Access Control Systems (PACS)
- Specific experience with and/or certification in Identiv's Hirsch Velocity product
- Experience with legacy (end-of-life) PACS and Video Management Systems hardware and software.
- Experience with PKI and federal smart card technology (Personal Identity Verification [PIV] cards)
- IT and PACS Security certification (e.g., Comp TIA Security+, PSP, CSEIP, or CISSP)
