Job Summary
The LVN utilizes the nursing process to assess and identify the individual needs of patients through observation of disease symptoms, emotional state, laboratory reports, cultural and socio-economic background and response to medical regimen and treatment. Under the direction of the Practice Manager/RN Navigator, s/he will assist with review of new patient referrals, triage provider in basket messages, Clinical Home Team, administrative and clinical support and assist with rooming patients as needed.
This individual will utilize his/her good customer service and communication skills on a daily basis via phone/electronic contact, mail correspondence, and personal contact with both internal and external customers. This employee will utilize computer skills in Apex and other UCSF computerized programs. This individual supports the standards of the policies and procedures of the practice and is responsible for maintaining current knowledge of pharmacology and competency in modes of administration, and complies with all Ambulatory Services and Medical Center policies and procedures for infection control, safety, and administrative and clinical practice. S/he is required to adhere to the Telephone and House Standards as adopted by the Medical Center, as well as demonstrating UCSF's PRIDE values and the AIDET fundamentals of communication in all patient care and stakeholder interactions.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $43.00 - $53.94 (Hourly Rate).

Required Qualifications
- Experience as a Medical Assistant/LVN for one year or more
- Knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position, including demonstrated excellent communication skills, problem-solving ability, and high comfort level with learning new technology/systems
- Basic computer/keyboarding skills
- Prior experience with electronic systems/records
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Spanish, Chinese, Russian language skills a plus
- Two to three years related experience in similar environment
- Experience in Neurology
License/Certification
- Active Licensed Vocational Nurse licensure in the State of California
- Active American Heart Association BLS Certification
