Cardiologist - RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to)
  • The Cardiologist shall cover the range of cardiology services as would be provided in a state-of-the-art civilian medical treatment facility.
  • Work with Cardiology Nurse Practitioners, Cardiology Physician Assistants, ED physicians, Hospitalists, inpatient residents, medical officer of the day (MODs), medical specialist, surgical specialist for cardiology inpatient consultants.
  • Ensure proper communication with the Primary Care and specialty physicians including cardiology inpatient/outpatient consults.
  • The Cardiologist documents progress notes, procedure notes, orders, encounters, and orders are within the electronic medical record per SLCHCS rules and regulations within 48 hours of the date of the encounter.
  • Follow current directives, handbooks, and other policies for the facility.
  • Meet requirements for documentation for third party billing.
  • Ensure smooth and timely patient flow for cardiology patients both inpatient/outpatients.
  • Comply with all The Joint Commission National Center for Patient Safety goals and accreditation standards.
  • The Cardiologist evaluates and manages both new and established cardiology clinic patients.
Cardiologist - REQUIREMENTS
  • Current license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia).
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Cardiology (ABIM).
  • Must have Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification, preferably through the American Heart Association.
  • Must have a DEA license.
