Job Description

BAE Systems is hiring a Deputy General Manager to support our Ordnance Business (OSI) in Radford, VA. The Deputy will be responsible for accelerating necessary changes to drive efficiency and effectiveness.

Support the General Manager in the day-to-day operations of the business including:

• Setting the vision, defining priorities, and establishing goals
• Focusing on safety and environmental performance improvements
• Ensuring organizational goals are being met and necessary resources are applied to accomplish those goals
• Driving coordination and collaboration between the senior leadership team
• Providing facility briefings to senior leadership
• Mitigating risk and capitalizing on opportunities
• Reviewing and approving business case opportunities
• Ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and contractual requirements
• Leading Operational Excellence programs to improve operational capacity and efficiency
• Act as a conduit between modernization and operations to ensure hand offs are completed successfully

Required Skills and Education

• Bachelor's Degree and 12 years of work experience or equivalent experience
• Experience in Program Management, Program Controls, or Lifecycle Management (LCM)
• Experience in People/Cross-functional Leadership
• Experience in planning, organizing, and managing multiple projects concurrently
• Experience in presenting work output to all levels of management
• Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and assignments
• Ability to drive a collaborative, team-oriented environment to support and drive process improvement within Operational Excellence initiatives
• Ability to monitor performance through KPIs and Metrics and identify risks and opportunities
• Ability to own assignments and be fully accountable for their success
• Ability to effectively influence cross-functional teams
• Ability to build relationships with customer and instill confidence in business capabilities
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Strong planning and organizational skills
• Strong computer application skills
