Must-Have:
- Vision near acuity: Ability to see clearly at 20 inches or less
- Depth perception: Ability to judge distance and space relationships
- Accommodation: Ability to adjust vision to bring objects into focus
- Color vision: Ability to distinguish and identify different colors necessary to perform job functions
Job Description:
- Perform routine techniques on surgical, autopsy, and research tissue according to standardized procedures.
- Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment required to perform analysis.
- Cut surgical, autopsy, research, and neuropathology tissue using a rotary microtome.
- Embed surgical, autopsy, research, and neuropathology tissue.
- Stain, coverslip, and label surgical, autopsy, research, and neuropathology tissue.
- Under supervision, perform special stains according to standardized procedures.
- Maintain all equipment and instruments and may demonstrate work to help onboard others.
- Mix and maintain solutions, including stains and special fixatives.
- Maintain and record all quality control, CAP, QA instrument function, and maintenance records.
- Maintain a current inventory of all reagents and supplies.
- Adhere to standard work for all job duties and report deviations for correction.
- Participate in data collection and quality improvement efforts.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
