Pathologist - RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to)
- The Pathologist provides comprehensive anatomic and clinical pathology services, including detailed gross and microscopic descriptions to support final diagnoses.
- Manage and complete surgical pathology cases daily, ensuring reports are issued within 48 hours unless additional stains or consultations are necessary. For complex cases, submit a preliminary report within 48 hours and pursue further consultation as needed.
- Offer expert consultations on pathologic cases, recommending appropriate diagnostic tests and procedures to aid in accurate diagnoses.
- The Pathologist collaborates with the Chief of Pathology on quality control initiatives, including review of CAP workload proficiency surveys and participation in quality assurance programs.
- Report administratively to the Chief of Pathology, providing leadership and mentorship to laboratory staff.
- Work closely with pathology technicians, cytotechnologists, and other lab personnel, providing guidance and support in their respective roles.
- Serve as a consultative resource for medical staff, offering interpretation of tissue, cytology, and laboratory findings and recommending diagnostic procedures that support patient care.
- Apply advanced diagnostic skills to identify and address rare and complex pathological conditions.
- The Pathologist provides training and guidance to histopathology and pathology technicians, cytotechnologists, and lab personnel.
Pathologist - REQUIREMENTS
- Completion of residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.
- Must possess a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice in any U.S. State, Territory, or Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
- Board Certified/Eligible by the American Board of Pathology
- Must have certification in Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Minimum of three (3) years of post-residency experience.
