Summary
The Chief Information Officer (CIO) directs and manages the College's Information Technology Department while ensuring the department is prepared to meet current and future trends in technology. Additionally, the CIO oversees the College's information systems and information technology resources. The CIO leads the development and execution of the College's IT strategy, ensures alignment with academic, administrative, and operational needs. This role combines technical expertise with strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of the higher education, specifically, community college landscape.

Essential Functions
- Lead the IT department, managing a team of IT professionals dedicated to supporting the mission and core values of the College.
- Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the technology team.
- Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently to support the College's strategic initiatives.
- Establish and manage vendor relationships, ensuring cost-effective technology solutions and services.
- Promote the use of technology to improve administrative processes, student engagement, and institutional effectiveness.
- Conduct annual employee performance appraisal/evaluation processes.
- Co-chair the Integration Technology Committee and serve on college-wide committees as assigned.
- Create and maintain information security standards including PCI compliance requirements.
- Oversee and manage documentation of software licensing.
- Manage administration of Active Directory domain.
- Work closely with senior leadership, academic deans, department heads, and administrative leaders to understand their technological needs and align IT initiatives with institutional priorities.
- Provide regular updates to the Executive Vice-President and other key stakeholders on the status of IT projects, technology investments, and higher education technology trends.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the College's network infrastructure, including local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), wireless systems, and cloud-based platforms.
- Ensure the college's IT infrastructure is scalable, reliable, secure, and meets the needs of a growing student population and faculty requirements.
- Oversee cybersecurity measures to protect college/student/employee data and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements such as FERPA, HIPAA, and other privacy laws.
- Develop and implement disaster recovery plans, business continuity strategies, and ensure overall system reliability and uptime.
- Incorporate the core values of integrity, opportunity, respect, excellence and helpfulness in support of the mission of the college.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in a computer-related field and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience with systems management.
- 5 years of management/leadership experience preferred.
- 5 years experience with Ellucian Colleague ERP required.
- Proven experience managing large-scale network systems, including LAN, WAN, cloud platforms, and wireless networks.
- Exceptional organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Proven project management skills.
- The ability to work independently as well as cooperatively with faculty, staff and administration.
