As an Account Executive at Vertosa, you'll serve top clients in the most innovative sector of the cannabis and hemp industries. Your reputation for building long-lasting client relationships and thriving in a fast-moving environment will drive expansion into new markets and customer segments. As the consummate team player, you'll effectively collaborate with other departments to deliver seamless service that reflects our clients' unique and ever-changing needs. By the end of your first year, you'll have gained a deep understanding of our products and processes, built a strong pipeline of new business, and established yourself as a high-performing contributor who positively impacts revenue growth and company culture.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients to address inquiries, resolve challenges, and ensure a seamless customer experience based on the unique needs of our industry.
  • Identify, prospect, and develop new business opportunities through research, networking, and cold outreach.
  • Expand existing accounts by identifying new product and market expansion opportunities.
  • Negotiate and close deals, including contracts, pricing, and fulfillment timelines, in a fast-paced, competitive environment with changing market conditions and customer needs.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including Operations, R&D, Marketing, and Quality, to ensure a cohesive approach to customer acquisition, retention, and issue resolution.
  • Manage and maintain accurate sales records, including forecasts, budgets, and pipeline data.
  • Conduct market research to best understand our customers' needs, stay up-to-date on industry trends, and ensure a deep understanding of relevant laws and regulations.
  • Participate in industry events and conferences to build brand awareness and network with potential clients or partners.


Job requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years experience in cannabis or food and beverage ingredient sales preferred, with a proven track record of achieving revenue targets and building long-lasting client relationships.
  • Proficiency with sales tools, such as CRM systems, Excel, and digital document platforms.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients and other team members.
  • Knowledge of the industry and market trends, including competitors and emerging technologies.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a high-paced environment.
  • Willing to travel to meet with clients or attend industry events up to 25% of a given quarter.
  • Must be a passionate champion for cannabis, although Vertosa does not require cannabis consumption for any employees.
