General Purpose:

The Director of Manufacturing and Engineering, under the direct supervision of the President, shall have responsibility for all aspects of day-to-day manufacturing and engineering functions of the company.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Strategizes, plans and coordinates the work of manufacturing and engineering staff.
  • Oversees Production Management and ensures all goals and objectives are met.
  • Oversees Engineering Management and ensures all goals and objectives are met.
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Provides training and mentoring as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Consults with President and senior leadership to create long-range operating and manufacturing goals specific to the needs of the organization.
  • Develops and implements LEAN production systems.
  • Collaborate with quality management to ensure compliance with QMS.
  • Oversee progress and timeliness of projects to schedule and budget
  • Evaluates the on-going efficiency and effectiveness of day-to-day operations and analyzes issues impacting engineering and manufacturing departments.
  • Provides the necessary leadership to plan, organize, direct, coordinate and control the manufacturing operations to meet continuous growth and profit objectives of the company
  • Sets standards for day-to-day activities including quality of work performance, achievement of company financial goals, project assignment and accountability, organizational and operational systems development
  • Recruits additional manufacturing and engineering staff as needed.
  • Identifies and implements changes based on business need
  • Gives clear and adequate direction to managers to achieve metrics

Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent managerial and supervisory skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent financial skills and ability to analyze financial data.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field
  • At least 10 years of experience in a manufacturing leadership role
  • Experience within a medical device manufacturing environment

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Ability to traverse manufacturing facility and engineering lab
