About this Opportunity

Reporting to the Chief Brand & Business Development Officer, in this role, you will champion fund development for GGC, supporting our accelerated growth to serve more girls and youth. You will drive comprehensive business development strategies, managing everything from philanthropic giving to partnership cultivation, balancing strategic and operational efforts to establish this new function.

In this role you will:

Strategic Fundraising
  • Build, establish and lead the Fundraising & Sponsorships function, balancing strategic and operational aspects of fundraising in GGC's multistakeholder environment.
  • Develop and champion a comprehensive fund development strategy that grows & diversifies multiple revenue streams in line with GGC's mission and values, nurturing meaningful relationships with a diverse community of organizational and individual donors.
  • Stay informed of key trends in fund development, fundraising, donor behavior and enabling technologies, identifying relevant opportunities and challenges.


Donor engagement & stewardship
  • Oversee the implementation of giving programs that provide personalized and impactful experiences through outreach, communications, proposals, impact reports, and recognition.
  • Oversee the integrity and accuracy of donor database management and tax receipt, ensuring reliable reporting and compliance with CRA standards.

Sponsorships & partnerships
  • Spearhead efforts to prospect and cultivate relationships with partners that align with GGC's mission and values.
  • Oversee sponsorships and partnerships programs, including development, pitching, negotiation, activation and relationship management with partners that deliver mutual value.

Grants management
  • Establish a systematic approach to grants management including prospecting, securing, negotiating and managing grants from foundations, government entities, and other sources.
  • Oversee the lifecycle of grants, ensuring high-quality grant proposals and reports are prepared, submitted, and compliant with funder requirements.


Strategic initiatives

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders and partners to deliver strategic initiatives such as annual campaigns, special events, alumni engagement, cause marketing, advocacy, community outreach, etc.


People leadership

  • Recruit, develop, and manage the Fundraising & Sponsorships team and manages agency relationships, fostering a collaborative, inclusive and high-performance environment.


General:
  • Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Liaise with other departments as required.
  • Provide general, ongoing support to members/volunteers, responding to/directing inquiries and consulting with the appropriate groups and individuals to support the mission and vision of GGC.
  • Other duties as assigned.


You are the ideal candidate if you have:
  • University degree in a relevant discipline, such as Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field
  • 7-10 years' experience with a minimum of 5-6 years in progressive fundraising roles with a youth brand (preferably legacy).
  • Proven track record managing a diverse fundraising portfolio, including securing major gifts, grants, and sponsorships.
  • Proven leadership experience, including establishing and operating new teams or functions.
  • Significant experience navigating multistakeholder fundraising environments and building strong relationships with boards, volunteers, community members and influential stakeholders.
  • Experience with strategic partnerships from a strong network of contacts across community, corporate, and institutional stakeholders to contractual negotiations.
  • Experience in compliance with fundraising regulations, data security requirements and philanthropic tax laws.
  • Exceptional influencing, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills to engage diverse stakeholders
  • Strong financial acumen, including ability to develop, manage and report on fundraising plans
  • Proactive and adaptable, willing to be hands-on with strategic visioning or tactical execution when needed
  • Strong cross-departmental collaboration for reporting and performance
  • Leadership and team management skills, with experience mentoring fundraising professionals
  • Strong analytical, decision-making and project management skills
  • Enthusiasm for the "sales" aspect of fundraising, with an ability to align messaging with the legacy brand, organizational mission and values
  • Proficiency in fundraising software, Microsoft Office, and digital fundraising platforms
  • Strong understanding of industry trends in fundraising, sponsorships, partnerships and grants management


Additional assets include:
  • Experience in Membership-based organizations, Associations or Non-profit organizations
  • Familiarity with CRM systems is an asset.
  • CFRE certification is preferred.

Starting Salary: $124,209
