Job Description
Purpose of Position:
Assists the HSP L-lll with the maintenance of daily operations within Jacobi's Oncology service with wide latitude for the exercise of independent initiative and judgment. Assists the HSP L-lll supervise the Oncology Satellite and functions as a specialty clinical pharmacist within the hospital, In the absence of the Level Ill pharmacist, the Level Il pharmacist may be required to assume the essential responsibilities. Adheres to Federal State and local laws and other regulatory requirements regarding pharmacy and institutional practice.
Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications
1. Possession of a valid NY State license to practice pharmacy.
2. Two years of post licensure experience; or
3. Completion of a post graduate specialty residency or fellowship program; or
4. Current Pharmacy Board Certification.
Department Preferences
Board Certification in Oncology preferred
Board Certification in Sterile Compounding preferred
Residency training preferred
Must have basic computer skills, i.e. Outlook e-mail, Word and Excel

Job Description
Purpose of Position:

Adheres to Federal State and local laws and other regulatory requirements regarding pharmacy and institutional practice.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision. Exercises sound professional judgment when managing the medication therapy of the Oncology Service or unit of patients as part of an interdisciplinary team. May participates in rounds. May rotate between satellites, tours and shifts. Performs some/all of the following tasks:
- Assists the HSP L-ll! supervise and/or coordinate the operation of the Oncology Pharmacy
- Competent in USP 800 rules and regulations
- Understands all aspects of hazardous drug handling
- Able to compound all hazardous drugs, including chemotherapeutic drugs
- Understands the risks of handling and compounding hazardous drugs
- Understands the NJOSH list and uses it as a reference when needed
- Understands the importance of using appropriate PPE
- Orients new staff members,
- Ability to set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond quickly to emergency requests,
- May assist the HSP L-lll prepare departmental reports.
- Helps to improve Pharmacy operations and promote desirable patient outcomes through the use of safe, appropriate, cost-effective medication therapies
- Able to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule.
