Job Description
Job Title: Echo Technologist/Cardiac Sonographer
Job Specialty: Echo Tech/Cardiac Sonographer
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Day 5x8-Hour (08:00 - 16:00)
Guaranteed Hours: Not specified
Experience: 1-2 years of scanning experience preferred
License: Valid State License required
Certifications: RDMS or CCI certification preferred
Must-Have: COVID-19 Vaccine (required, no exemptions)
Job Description:
- Work schedule from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. No weekends.
- For holidays, work on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve; no work on Christmas Day, New Year's Day, and Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
- Opportunity to float between multiple locations.
- Receive physicians' orders for inpatient and outpatient services and review electronic medical records for pertinent history.
- Prepare patients for procedures while considering their physical, psychosocial, and cultural needs.
- Follow proper patient transport procedures when applicable.
- Provide patient care in a safe and compassionate manner.
- Perform echocardiograms for pediatric and adult patients following protocol and recognized standards.
- Examine the heart for wall motion, valve function, chamber size, and any abnormalities; notify cardiologist of any critical findings.
- Assist in the care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies; report malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.
- Ensure accurate completion of patient charges and confirm orders for all studies conducted.
- Assist with stress tests and EKGs if needed.
- Participate in orientation and mandatory learning modules.
