We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have ADP payroll experience and be proficient in timekeeping systems, preferably Unanet . This role requires experience in government contracting , ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Multi-state payroll processing , on a semi-monthly basi s , for salaried exempt, salaried non-exempt, and hourly employees .


  • Wage c alculation s and posting of paid time off accruals, straight-time over-time hours, mili t ar y leave reconciliation, hardship and/or haz ard pay uplift , and comp time . Ensure payroll is processed timely and in compliance with federal, state, and local laws , as well as government contracting regulations .


  • Review and verify the accuracy of timekeeping records from Unanet or other timekeeping systems.


  • Coor dination with HR to manage payroll related tasks such as garnishments, special payroll deductions, and benefit deductions .


  • Coordinate with HR and Finance/Accounting to process new hires, terminations, and changes in employee status .


  • Prepare and maintain accurate payroll reports and records in compliance with government contracting regulations .


  • Assist with annual payroll audits and ensure all documentation is in place for government audits .


  • Effective communication of payroll guidelines and r espond to payroll-related inquiries from employees and management.


  • Stay up to date on changes in payroll laws, compliance requirements, and government contracting regulations .


  • Set up new states of business, and manage state income tax and SUI registrations and filings , while ensuring payroll compliance with state tax and employment regulations.


  • Ensure proper filing of monthly/quarterly/annua l payroll filings including 1099s, W2s, Form 941s, etc.


  • Handle workers' compensation reports, ensuring accurate record-keeping and compliance with state and federal requirements.


  • Perform other duties as requested and assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Payroll professional , preferably in a government contracting environment .


  • 5+ years of experience in payroll processing.
Experience with multi-state payroll processing .

  • Familiarity with benefits administration and payroll tax reporting.


  • Hands-on experience processing payroll using ADP Workforce N ow s oftware .


  • Strong understanding of payroll processes, laws, and government contracting requirements .


  • Experience handling payroll compliance including quarterly and annual filings and withholdings. E xcellent attention to detail and accuracy .


  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) .


  • Strong organizational and time-management skills .


  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.


  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with timekeeping systems (Unanet preferred).


  • Knowledge of DCCA compliance related to payroll.


  • Working knowledge of accounting concepts and FAR.
