Job Description
The School of Medicine Dean's office - Business & Finance are pleased to announce an opening for a Finance and Accounting Analyst Lead position.
The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, and able to work collaboratively as well as independently. The ideal candidate must be able to work closely with other departmental and hospital staff, be able to work in a fast-paced environment, interact effectively with diverse personalities, have initiative and vision, possess strong writing skills to prepare plans and reports, and the highest level of professionalism.
Job Duties:
Researches, tracks, and monitors departmental CARTS accounts and usage. Prepares analyzes/reports of variance to budget
Reviews trends, helps forecast futures expenses based on trend analysis. Daily, weekly & monthly activities to ensure performance to budget.
Assists leadership teams within departments, School of Medicine, and Hospital. Researches variances to budget and recommends corrections when necessary. Meets regularly with leadership teams to provide financial standing reports and makes recommendations for improving financial management of accounting structure.
Reviews and monitors CARTS related MOUs and activities. Prepare ad-hoc reports, queries, etc as assigned to assist leadership and team to manage all CARTS financial transactions.
Assigns daily and monthly work and oversees a small team to ensure that all work is done properly and completed in a timely manner while providing training and on the spot corrections as needed.
Works with fiscal staff in SOM departments to train and develop staff on CARTS. This includes allocation methodologies, reconciliations, and other fiscal management tools.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Shift Type: Monday through Friday 8am - 5pm
Office/Administrative Hours: Yes - Position will have Office/Admin Hours
Flexibility for Alternative Schedules: No
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
Anticipated Hiring Range
Hiring Range: $58,573 - $108,035
Grade: GGS-011
