About the Role
The Engineering Capability Manager (ECM) Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) is responsible for leading and managing the ILS Line Function which allocates teams to RDA vehicle systems programs. The key responsibility lies in developing, implementing and maintaining the ILS line function, associated processes and integrating ILS into product development. The ECM ILS is to ensure sufficiently skilled staff is available to deliver the ILS SOW of RDA`s projects and programs, applying ILS best practise in order to deliver RDA`s contractual obligations.

About the Role
The Engineering Capability Manager (ECM) Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) is responsible for leading and managing the ILS Line Function which allocates teams to RDA vehicle systems programs. The key responsibility lies in developing, implementing and maintaining the ILS line function, associated processes and integrating ILS into product development. The ECM ILS is to ensure sufficiently skilled staff is available to deliver the ILS SOW of RDA`s projects and programs, applying ILS best practise in order to deliver RDA`s contractual obligations.
The ECM, ILS responsibilities include:
- Maintaining and improving the RDA ILS organisation and related resources, processes and procedures;
- Integrating the ILS function into the RDA design development process and collaborating with the IPTs to ensure ILS aspects are covered in design developments as well as timely delivery of ILS output is enabled;
- Designing and implementing an appropriate ILS strategy for future acquisition contracts;
- Leading the ILS department, ensuring all required ILS related competencies are available in the team, staff is adequately trained and delivering the ILS SOW for programs RDA is working on, in accordance with the RDA standards and processes;
- Representing RDA within the global Rheinmetall organisation in all relevant ILS matters;
- Oversee and support the execution of the RDA program related ILS strategies to ensure that the requirements of each element are properly planned, resourced, and efficiently implemented to ensure that all contractual deliverables are fully satisfied to time, cost and quality thereby directly contributing to the capabilities smooth transition from acquisition to sustainment;
- As integral part of product development, oversee the identification of reliability issues / problems and initialisation of system or part design improvements based on reliability, maintainability, testability or system availability analysis (i.e. recommending risk mitigating solutions);;
- Work closely with, and provide guidance and subject matter expertise to RDA project teams and sub-contractors as appropriate;
- Oversee and support the preparation and management of the ILS contracts and subcontractors, including acceptance of sub-contractor deliverables and performance;
- Maintain a collaborative and solutions focused approach with all internal and external customer interactions;
- Contribute to the development and management of the ILS budgets;
- Regularly report on ILS business activities;
- Provide leadership and guidance to the ILS team to encourage high performance and contribution; and
- Support project review meetings in Australia and, where appropriate, overseas.
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:
- Hold relevant technical tertiary level qualification;
- 10 Years + Direct ILS delivery Experience or ILS Management experience, having completed an ILSM course or other relevant Materiel Logistics training
- Have worked to deliver against AUSDEFCON;
- Project Management experience, preferably in defence projects;
- Eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (Australian Citizenship required).
