Job Responsibilities
The person in this position will serve on the Administrative review team for compliance monitoring in accordance with United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) guidelines; maintain a five-year cycle calendar for all School Food Authorities (SFA). Assist with planning, directing, and conducting administrative reviews of Child Nutrition Program (CNP) operations. Develop written reports of findings and recommendations; negotiate corrective action; and conduct post-review evaluations, as needed. Provide technical assistance and conduct monitoring of SFAs to ensure compliance with state, federal and agency policies, laws and regulations. Serve as program liaison for assigned SFAs and provide technical assistance to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations. Review program operations at the SFA level to assess program needs and make recommendations for program improvement. Provide guidance in all aspects of program management. Assess program needs; make recommendations for CNP improvement. Collect data when requested and submit required reports to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, policies, and guidelines. Ensure that data integrity is maintained and provide analysis of program data to managers and supervisors as requested. Responsible for assisting in the maintenance of the Food for Thought website. Assist in making sure all relevant USDA information is updated on Office of Health and Nutrition (OHN) webpages and any social media sites. Ensure site is compliant with state and federal regulations. Update practices and office procedures to streamline processes where possible. Serve and participate on quality teams relevant to food and nutrition programs across divisional lines to administer special projects to enhance the goals and objectives of public education (food safety, Seamless Summer Option (SSO), Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), strategic plan, Farm to School (F2S), Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP), verification, direct certification, data collection, training, etc.). Develop and conduct specialized training for various organizations and participate in the development, delivery and implementation of food service office programs or activities to the SFAs and recipient agencies. Coordinate regional and all other required training. Schedule, create agendas, and development of materials; including surveys for all training delivered. Train state and local staff on program requirements through formal and informal presentations. Serve as agency resource with school district personnel, other education professionals, parents, and representatives from the private sector. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
This position is located in the Office of Health and Nutrition.

Minimum and Additional Requirements
A Bachelor's degree and experience in education, management or business.

Preferred Qualifications
A Master's degree and four (4) years of experience in culinary management, business management, food and human nutrition, food service management or related area; or a Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience in culinary management, business management, food and human nutrition, or food service management, USDA food programs.

Additional Comments

Will be exposed to a variety of environments, including school kitchens, coolers, and freezers; approximately 40% of time involves travel, including overnight stays; should be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
