Finance Manager, Sales

The Role:

As aFinance Manager, sales you will be a critical player in the financial planning and analysis (FP&A) activities for our Go-to-Market (GTM) teams, with a focus on Ecosystem and LATAM teams. This is a unique opportunity to partner with our sales leadership, driving financial forecasting, budget management, and performance analysis, all while supporting SUSEs scaling journey. You will be instrumental in optimizing sales performance and providing actionable financial insights to business partners across the organization.

The ideal candidate is highly motivated, confident, and excels at managing both the big-picture strategy and detailed financial execution. You will operate at all levels of the organization, influencing decision-making through data-driven insights and financial modeling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Planning and Analysis:
  • Own and manage the financial planning processes for Ecosystem and LATAM teams, ensuring alignment with SUSEs business objectives.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to build and refine annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-term financial plans for the sales functions.
  • Conduct detailed variance analysis, focusing on ACV, revenue and OPEX trends to identify key opportunities and risks.
  • Partner with the controllership team on accruals and close processes, ensuring accuracy and completeness in financial reporting.
  • Sales Performance Management:
  • Work closely with sales leadership to develop sales targets, quotas, and incentive plans.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate sales performance, providing regular updates and actionable insights for senior management.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of sales performance drivers, recommending adjustments to improve outcomes and support business goals.
  • Business Partnering and Stakeholder Management:
  • Act as a strategic partner to sales leadership, providing financial insights and recommendations to drive business success.
  • Build relationships with cross-functional teams, including regional finance teams, to ensure alignment on financial goals.
  • Present financial analysis and performance reports to senior management, translating complex data into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Process Improvement and System Enhancements:
  • Lead efforts to improve financial planning and analysis processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Work with IT and business stakeholders to drive system enhancements, improving efficiency and data integrity in financial reporting and forecasting.
  • Spearhead cross-functional initiatives aimed at scaling processes, automating workflows, and driving long-term efficiencies.
  • Ad-hoc Projects and Strategic Decision Support:
  • Take ownership of key ad-hoc projects and initiatives, supporting senior management with business-critical financial analysis and decision support.
  • Provide thought leadership on strategic financial initiatives, influencing decisions related to sales strategy and resource allocation.

Experience, Skills, and Knowledge:

  • CIMA/ACCA/ACA or similar qualifications preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive FP&A experience, with at least 2 years working closely with sales functions in a technology company.
  • Strong expertise in sales operations, revenue recognition, and sales performance metrics.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and other financial analysis tools; familiarity with FP&A systems like Anaplan, Salesforce, and PowerBI is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven track record in financial decision-making support for sales functions, particularly in high-growth or SaaS environments.
