Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant
Profession: Physical Therapy Assistant Licensed
Specialty: Adult Rehab Services
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Days
Hours per Shift: 8 hours
Experience: Not required
License: Current license as a Physical Therapist Assistant or eligible to sit for state license and must obtain license within six months of hire
Certifications: Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire
Must-Have: Therapy, Excellent Communication Skills, Documentation, Adjustments, Ultrasound
Description:
Under direct supervision of a Physical Therapist, carry out treatment plans developed in accordance with physician's orders.
Provide supervised treatments indicated by the Physical Therapist, using modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and hot or cold packs.
Assist with patient transfers, exercises, walking, and similar activities.
Provide the therapist with input concerning the effectiveness of treatments and adjustments needed to the treatment plan for patients.
Document progress appropriately in the patient chart, with records cosigned by the licensed Physical Therapist.
Administer motorized traction to relieve neck and back pain.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Possess knowledge of the principles, methods, practices, techniques, equipment, and procedures used in physical therapy.
Be knowledgeable about equipment and capable of adjusting it to suit patients' needs.
Maintain effective working relationships with staff and exhibit excellent communication skills in guiding patients.
Prioritize work effectively.
Have knowledge of computers.
Education: Possession of an Associate's degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
Languages: Ability to read, write, and speak English.
