Senior BI Developer

The opportunity

The Product Business Intelligence team at Unity is central to facilitating data-driven decision-making, identifying business growth opportunities, and designing impactful analytical tools. Unity currently operates two Ad Networks, both of which are under the scope of work for this team; it is an exciting and challenging environment that requires an ability to grapple with abstractions and boil down complexity into what is relevant.We are looking for an analytical, communicative, and versatile Sr. Business Intelligence Developer to join our team in MTL. Your day-to-day will involve analyzing large gamer behavior and ad delivery datasets for insights, developing interactive data tools and dashboards for the BI team and its stakeholders, owning data reporting pipelines, and working cross-functionally across Product, Engineering, Data Science and Account Management teams to drive forward product initiatives.

What you'll be doing

• Analyze large datasets from multiple products to deliver insights that will guide product development
• Aid in the life-cycle development and strategy for emerging product objectives
• Build action-oriented dashboards to monitor product performance and provide recommendations for various stakeholders
• Own, maintain, and develop the reporting data pipeline for specific products and custom dashboards
• Promoting understanding of the domain and alignment between stakeholders with active, crisp and concise communication
• Collaborating with stakeholders from many parts of the organization
• Taking initiative to identify and seek alignment on problems worth solving

What we're looking for

• Ability to identify project opportunities in a dynamic organization
• Ability to independently plan and execute on data analyses and development projects
• Expert skills in working with tabular data using SQL
• Proficiency producing self-contained and reproducible data analyses with tools such as Python or R
• The ability to draw compelling and insightful data visualizations
• Experience dashboarding with tools such as Looker, Tableau or similar
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with different collaborators across teams, as well as a self-starter who can operate and drive work to completion independently

You might also have

• Working knowledge of statistics and methods such as significance testing
• Experience with ETL practices and tools such as Forge, Pyspark
• Adtech and/or mobile gaming industry experience
• Previous experience communicating and presenting technical concepts to various audiences
• Experience in data development with Looker
