About the Role:

We are looking for an Internal Communications Manager to highlight the exceptional work happening across Upgrade. This person will be a crucial force in enhancing communication within the organization, influencing Upgrade's internal products, brand, and written identity. This role is focused on crafting great content that can be leveraged across the organization.

This is an on-site role based in our Phoenix location.

What You'll Do:

Content Creation and Strategy:

  • Develop original creative content aligned with brand, business needs, and strategy.
  • Contribute to the development of content strategy and processes for internal communications.
  • Utilize data analytics, user testing, and industry standards for informed decision-making.
  • Manage internal communication channels, exploring new platforms for enhanced effectiveness.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Integrate into operations, collaborating with internal stakeholders to stay informed.
  • Define and extend Upgrade's content and voice across internal operations.
  • Receive and incorporate feedback with a solutions-focused mindset.
  • Lead meetings with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Facilitate initiatives for employee engagement, including events and town halls.

Leadership:

  • Take the lead on projects, providing status updates, identifying roadblocks, and forecasting future needs.
  • Own end-to-end project management, adhering to best practices.
  • Contribute to and maintain the evolving brand, considering content and comms as a system.
  • Develop various internal and executive communications, demonstrating a deep understanding of messaging and positioning.
  • Maintain an editorial calendar for routine and ad hoc communications.
  • Manage two direct reports
  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed


What We Look For:

  • 5+ years of prior experience in an Internal Communications, Public Relations, Product Development or similar executive-facing position required
  • Experience in startup, fintech, or financial service call center environments preferred
  • Self-starter and ability to thrive in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment with ease and agility
  • Leadership experience
  • Experience with Google Workspace, Google Analytics, Adobe Creative Suite, JIRA, Figma, Slack
  • Excellent interpersonal, written communication, and presentation skills
  • Highly organized individual with the ability to effectively balance a high volume of tasks of varying degrees of complexity, urgencies, and topics
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
