Job Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Specialty: Operating Room (OR)

Job Duration: 12 Months

Shift: 40 hrs/wk; 8-hour shifts; 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM with 2 weekday calls (7:30 PM to 11:00 PM) and 1 Saturday or Sunday every 6 weeks (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM)

Guaranteed Hours: 40.00 per week

Experience: Minimum years of experience not specified

License: Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state or holds a current compact/multi-state license in a recognized NCSBN Compact State if not a permanent state resident

Certifications: Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Card required

Must-Have:
- Ability to scrub and circulate
- Graduate of an accredited school or college of nursing
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred, required within five years of hire if applicable

Job Description:

- Provide nursing care for patients following established standards and practices in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act
- Apply professional nursing theory and practice to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
- Perform patient assessments to reflect physical, psychological, socio-cultural, spiritual, cognitive needs and functional abilities
- Plan and prioritize care based on assessments, involving patients and families in care planning and evaluation
- Demonstrate clinical competencies in specialty area as outlined in departmental standards
- Assess patient and family learning needs, plan and provide education, and evaluate effectiveness of teaching
- Identify and respond to ethical issues in patient care, providing care in a non-judgmental manner
- Initiate collaborative dialogue with physicians and coordinate multidisciplinary activities
- Act as a patient advocate
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, patient safety, and quality initiatives to achieve optimal outcomes
- Maintain a safe work environment by identifying and addressing safety hazards
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, hospital staff, and the public
- Utilize critical thinking and communication skills to address and solve problems efficiently
- Work under stressful conditions and adhere to department needs, including on-call and weekend/holiday shifts
