Hybrid work Schedule- 3 days in office, 2 days from home

General Overview:

The IT Manager for Projects will have the opportunity to collaborate with senior IT leaders while leading complex IT projects that support and advance the way Rawlings does business. This position will work closely with the VP of Information Technology and other business leaders, to understand short- and long-term business goals and strategy in formation of project plans / future roadmaps.

Position Responsibilities
  • Understand how our technology strategy aligns with our overall business goals. Help define strategy within areas of focus.
  • Coordinate or lead small to medium sized projects of low to moderate technical complexity. Define project plans and achieve project objectives and schedules. Plans, directs, coordinates, and monitors activities of one or more project teams involved in the analysis, design, development, and implementation of IT initiatives.
  • Collaborates with project sponsors to define the project scope and objectives, identifies required skills and resources for the project team, develops detailed work plans, and provides project status updates.
  • Anticipates and identifies project issues and risks, recommends solutions, and works with management to implement solutions.
  • Defines direction for selection of new project management applications and works with leadership to define overall project management strategy.
  • Establishes achievable team and individual goals, driving implementations and accountability.
  • Manages process compliance as appropriate (e.g., internal controls, regulatory requirements, other business process, etc.) including development and delivery of documentation and training material.
  • Adheres to standards in both new and existing software, including purchased packages and in-house development. Follows departmental policies and procedures as well as those for the overall company.
  • Partners with business users and project teams to collaborate on and deliver the right solutions for Rawlings as a whole. Participates in strategy discussions to understand and capture high level business needs. Serves as a conduit between business, IT and external partners.
  • Participate in IT department budget discussions.
  • Manage relationships with various technology vendors and negotiate small contracts.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Computer Science or Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years progressive IT related experience, with at least 2 years of directly supervising an information technology team. 6+ years IT related project management experience preferred.
  • Proficient knowledge of project management concepts, from planning and inception through implementation and support.
  • Capable of overseeing complex high profile projects with responsibility for planning, organizing, staffing, leading and controlling project activities. Ability to deliver simple and elegant software solutions that are realized are realized in time frame committed; work in conjunction with project sponsors to size and manage scope and risk. Proven ability to concurrently manage multiple end-to-end projects and deliver results on-time and on-budget
  • Experience participating in JDE/ Oracle projects is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to document requirements, design, development, integration, test plans, migration/cutover plans and ongoing documentation of processes and change modifications.
  • Experience working with business to build trusted relationships with peers and with client stakeholders and act as a trusted advisor.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to communicate technical information independently and effectively in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences including Managers and Directors.
  • Advanced hands-on experience working with one or more IT areas of expertise including: project management, ERP systems, cloud applications, process improvement, change management, or functional areas including digital commerce, marketing, supply chain, financials, manufacturing, distribution, etc.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to remain agile and adjust priorities based on workload, management directives and customer demands.

WORKING CONDITIONS

General office working conditions with moderate travel domestically. Additionally, the requirement of having a cell phone with high-speed internet access from home as required for support.
