Job Summary and Qualifications

The Director of Nursing Informatics provides strategic direction and oversight for a comprehensive nursing and clinical informatics portfolio at the enterprise level. This person has expert knowledge that supports the use, development, deployment, and operational needs of electronic health records, clinical communication and collaboration platforms, and other health information technologies. This person manages multiple projects and initiatives, including assigned personnel, throughout our hospitals and other patient care areas. Up to 50% travel required.

Major Responsibilities
Align health information technology and clinical activities within the organization.
Apply framework and strategy for enterprise initiatives and evaluations.
Represent nursing interests in partnerships with clinical, operational, and IT leadership to translate clinical needs into information system needs.
Manage a team of clinical informaticists in the delivery of processes and technologies that support quality patient outcomes.
Facilitate health IT implementations that support and enhance clinician workflow, specifically for core and specialty electronic health records and their integrated clinician-facing applications.
Partner with IT, Operations, and other colleagues to create and apply evidence-based tools within our learning health system.
Maintains effective communication with the executive team and other stakeholders, both written and verbal.
Cultivate informatics and leadership skills within the internal team, ensuring open communication between direct reports and other levels of leadership.
Serve as subject matter expert with field and corporate partners to establish and disseminate best practices for integrated technologies.
Identify highest-value opportunities to proposed solutions to clinical workflow and operational barriers, based on data and observation
Demonstrate ongoing commitment to leadership development, team building, and self-guided learning of clinical informatics, performance improvement and clinical operations.
Demonstrate ability to build strong relationships across teams and personalities.
Effective organizational and analytical skills.
Proficient in Microsoft products and business intelligence tools.
Enthusiasm for improving clinician and patient experience.
Effectively manage project work, and adhere to agreed upon timelines
Participate in ongoing professional development and growth opportunities.

Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree, Nursing required
Master's degree, Informatics or related field required
2+ years leadership experience preferred
5+ years experience in clinical informatics required
7+ years experience in clinical practice required
Board Certified in Nursing Informatics required
Registered Nurse - Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state in which he or she practices, in accordance with law and regulation.
