Job Summary:

The Quality Manager (QM) drives continuous process improvement, implementation of best practices across branches, and positively impacts RTY and Sigma level. QM is accountable for customer audit preparedness, the NCR/Customer Complaints Program, and the implementation and accountability for work procedures and work instructions associated with the company's Quality Management System.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
    • Assist in developing new processes, products, materials, and technologies to improve shop operation efficiency
    • Assist in developing company QMS work instructions and procedures and provide corresponding training within the identified regions
    • Conduct internal quality audits and assist in customer audits within the identified regions
    • Oversee work processes to ensure that internal and external quality standards are followed
    • Drive continuous improvement to drive down defects, increase rolled throughput yield, and improve Sigma level
    • Coordinate across departments to resolve any non-conformance or customer complaint issues and be responsible for decreasing overall non-conformance rate.
    • Communicate with customers, as required on customer complaints and find additional ways to improve the execution of shop operations
    • Play a lead role in supplier qualifications by owning the quality of received product. Help transfer manufacturing processes to suppliers and put quality assurance controls in place to ensure quality.


Positional Requirements & Qualifications:
  • Education & Experience
    • High school diploma or GED equivalent + 10+ yrs in the valve industry
    • Preferred - Bachelor's degree (Engineering) + work at a valve company (5 yrs min)
    • Worked with one or more regulatory standards - API, ASME, CE/PED, etc
    • Preferred - Familiarity with Intelex or similar application to manage Non-Conformance and Customer Complaints
  • Skills & Abilities
    • Highly organized, Effective time-management, Detail-oriented
    • Strong interpersonal, communication, and technical skills
  • Must be able to travel and have a clear driving record in accordance with company driving guidelines
  • Clear background check and drug/alcohol screening


Location:
  • Houston TX area preferred
  • Cincinnati OH with ability and commitment to move to Houston in 2-4 months
  • Anywhere else in the US with the ability and commitment to move to Houston within 60 days of accepting the role


Essential Physical Functions:
  • Travel: 25%
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Bending, stooping, walking, and/or ability to stand for up to 50% of shift
