Job Summary

**The Minnesota Department of Transportation does not sponsor applicants for work visas or Optional Practical Training Extensions for STEM Students Individuals must be legally authorized to work in the US at the start of employment.**

This position is located in Roseville and has the flexibility to telework, work a hybrid schedule, or work in the office. The incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent may be expected to work in the office on occasion.

This position will assist the office, agency, and statewide partners in strategically planning for and communicating about Connected and Automated Vehicles (CAV). This position is responsible for leading and coordinating the state's CAV communications, engagement, and planning activities. This position leads the state of Minnesota's CAV engagement and communications work with direct management and coordination with the Policy and Planning Manager.

This position requires occasional (approximately 10% - 15% time) in state travel to meetings and conferences; may include an overnight stay.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Two years of advanced professional experience that demonstrates the following:
  • Experience leading projects and/or directing the work of professional staff.
  • Experience in project management, including managing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Experience in public engagement, including public engagement planning and leading education efforts.
  • Experience leading, planning, and facilitating meetings with staff, partners and other government officials.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), emerging technologies, and CAV.
  • Experience working with communities with transportation barriers, focusing on accessibility, equity, and inclusivity.
  • Knowledge of and experience implementing MnDOT's public engagement handbook guidance, MnDOT's CAV Messaging and Engagement Plan, and/or department standards for communication and engagement.
