Structural Engineer 3

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer 3 with 7-10 years of heavy industrial or power plant experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have an accredited bachelor's degree in engineering and a strong background in structural steel and concrete design. This role involves providing structural engineering services, field support, and overseeing the design and analysis of complex structural systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide structural engineering services and field support for heavy industrial and power plant projects.
• Prepare designs and calculations for structural steel and concrete systems.
• Conduct site walk downs of construction sites to assess project requirements and constraints.
• Develop cost estimates and material takeoffs for project budgeting and procurement.
• Provide schedule and staffing input to ensure project timelines and resource allocation.
• Produce and check structural steel design calculations and drawings for accuracy and compliance.
• Coordinate and manage multiple small to mid-sized, single or multi-discipline projects.
• Perform structural inspections and provide comprehensive written reports.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with plant staff, design engineering teams, and vendors.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
• 7-10 years of heavy industrial or power plant experience.
• Detailed knowledge of structural steel and concrete design principles and industry methodologies.
• Significant structural steel connection design experience.
• Proficiency with structural computer programs, such as STAAD PRO and MathCAD.
• In-depth knowledge of structural codes and standards, including OSHA regulations.
• Strong computer skills and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent decision-making abilities and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional Engineering (PE) registration.
• Working knowledge of ANSYS.
• Design experience in transmission structures.

Skills and Expertise:

• Extensive knowledge of heavy industrial structures and components.
• Strong proficiency in structural design and analysis software.
• Ability to perform detailed structural inspections and write clear, detailed reports.
• Capability to coordinate and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with stakeholders.
