Knowledge Services is seeking a remote QA Engineer/UAT Analyst for a 12-month contract (potential for extension) in support of the State of North Dakota Department of Health & Human Services. Position may work 100% remotely.
Responsibilities
QA Engineer/UAT Analyst Responsibilities:
The North Dakota Department of Human Services, Economic Assistance Division is seeking a User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Analyst to support testing of the Self-Service Portal and Combined Eligibility System (SPACES).
The UAT Analyst will support the functional areas, product and technology partners in testing and implement system modifications and new technology solutions that meet business needs as well as to prepare for new client implementations.
This position includes developing and executing test cases and working collaboratively with business functional leads.
The UAT analyst's primary responsibility is to create and deliver high quality testing coverage for SPACES eligibility system and to ensure that the implemented software code and processes meets the requirements of the business programs, conforms to all applicable Federal and state laws and meets the needs of customers.
Participate in Agile ceremonies with development team and policy stakeholders for program enhancements or defects
Collaborate with policy and business analyst leads on necessary approach for adequate testing coverage
Work with small teams of business analysts, implementation and operational managers, external vendors and consultants to support implementation activities.
Develop requirements traceability matrix, test cases, execute test cases, capture and report results using approved tracking tools and coordinate user acceptance test activities with UAT Manager.
Actively manage application defects from inception through resolution, working with business analysts, product owners, application designers, developers and functional testers to effectively prioritize and drive to resolution.
Monitor UAT progress; eliminate obstacles, report progress and provide recommendations for system improvement to manager and product owners
Functions as a Business area subject matter expert to answer questions and address issues on the operation of an application which may come from staff or management
Participate in larger teams as a team member, and/or work independently
Qualifications
QA Engineer/UAT Analyst Required Skills:
8+ years of experience working on large-scale, complex projects, such as enterprise software implementations or system integrations, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and achievement of project objectives.
Expertise with Agile Methodology, ceremonies and processes
5+ years of experience in creating test cases and working with multiple system interfaces.
Ability to summarize UAT status, develop execution metrics and escalate issues as necessary to Management.
Demonstrated strong cross-functional communication, problem-solving, and collaboration with a team.
Must have at least a Bachelor's degree (Masters preferred)
Preferred:
5+ years of experience working with software quality testing on an Integrated Eligibility System (IES) for public assistance programs such as Medicaid, SNAP, and TANF.
Recent SPACES (Self-Service Portal & Combined Eligibility System) experience
Previously worked for the state government on testing a self-service portal or eligibility system.
Strong understanding of software quality testing of a large enterprise system.
Highly organized, able to manage your time and priorities effectively.
Able to demonstrate the ability to communicate with all types of people. You must have strong communication and relationship building skills to improve the quality of the product being delivered to the end users.
