We are experiencing continuous growth and are currently seeking a UI/UX Developer to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with our IT and Marketing teams and report directly to the Marketing Manager. This is a hybrid role, working in the Richmond office on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Position Overview:

We need a UI/UX Developer with expertise in WordPress. You will be responsible for creating, designing, and maintaining high-performing, engaging websites and digital assets for both desktop and mobile platforms. The role requires proficiency in both front-end and back-end development, as well as expertise in optimizing site performance and user experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • UI/UX Design & Development: Design and develop user-centric WordPress interfaces, ensuring an optimal experience across devices.
  • Web Optimization: Regularly update and optimize websites using SEO, web analytics, and design principles to enhance performance.
  • Prototyping & User Flow: Create wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes using Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, InVision, or Axure.
  • Full-Stack Development: Apply expertise in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WordPress for seamless front-end and back-end integration.
  • Performance Optimization: Improve site speed, fix bugs, and enhance crawl functionality.
  • Content Optimization: Compress images and assets to improve site speed without compromising quality.
  • Heatmap & Conversion Analysis: Leverage tools to analyze user behavior and optimize site conversions.
  • SEO/SEM: Implement SEO/SEM best practices, including backlinks, lazy loading, and caching to boost rankings and site performance.
  • Content Execution: Upload assets, apply meta tags to ensure accuracy and relevance, and manage the content lifecycle from drafting to publishing, ensuring alignment with branding and SEO.
  • Collaboration: Partner with internal teams to deliver digital assets that align with business goals and improve user experience.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on design and development trends, applying innovative solutions to enhance web projects.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisors.

Experience, Traits, and Qualifications:
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Design, Graphic Design, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 5+ years of UI/UX development experience with advanced WordPress expertise and a blend of design and development skills.
  • Proficient in front-end and back-end technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WordPress development, with a strong focus on performance optimization and debugging.
  • Experienced with design tools (Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, InVision, Axure) and SEO/SEM strategies, including backlinking, lazy loading, caching, and minification for improved site performance.
  • Skilled in user experience optimization using heatmaps and analytics to drive conversion rate improvements, with a focus on accessibility compliance (WCAG, ARIA labels, semantic HTML, WP Accessibility).
  • Expert in WordPress design systems and creating reusable components via Advanced Custom Fields, as well as integrating dynamic content through the WordPress REST API.
  • Proven ability in cross-browser/device testing and enhancing site performance with tools like WP Rocket, Lighthouse, and adding micro interactions/animations using GSAP or Lottie.
