About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and experienced finance professional to join our team as Controller. Reporting to the VP, Finance, the Controller will play a key role in shaping the financial foundation of HEALWELL AI. This position is responsible for optimizing financial processes, revising our P&L structure to better align with business goals, and supporting the development of financial reporting dashboards using MS Power BI.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting and Analysis

• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with IFRS.
• Conduct financial and variance analysis, providing insights to support senior management decision-making.
• Assist in developing financial reports and dashboards to monitor key SaaS performance indicators (KPIs).

Accounting and Treasury Operations

• Supervise and review the work of the accounting team, including AP, AR, and general ledger activities.
• Provide guidance on revenue recognition policies and communicate these effectively to business unit leaders.
• Standardize accounting policies across multiple business units.
• Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Support cash flow planning and management to ensure operational liquidity.
• Manage relationships with financial institutions.

Financial Controls and Compliance

• Maintain and enhance internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, tax regulations, and financial reporting requirements.
• Assist with external audits, providing necessary documentation and addressing inquiries.

Budgeting and Forecasting

• Support the quarterly and annual budgeting process.
• Assist in the development of financial forecasts and projections.
• Monitor budget performance and provide recommendations for adjustments.

Process Improvement

• Identify opportunities for process efficiencies within financial operations.
• Optimize the use of NetSuite, standardizing the Chart of Accounts and automating financial reports.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with external stakeholders such as auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies.

Training and Development

• Mentor and develop finance team members, enhancing their technical and professional skills.
• Stay updated on accounting industry trends and share insights with the team.

M&A Support

• Assist in the integration of acquisitions, contributing to the development of an integration playbook.

Qualifications and Experience

• 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting and finance roles.
• University degree in Finance, Business, or a related field.
• CPA, CA designation or MBA with a strong working knowledge of IFRS GAAP.
• Public company experience and/or IPO experience is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
• Proficiency with financial systems (NetSuite preferred) and MS Power BI.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lead by example and work collaboratively within a team.
