Role: Cyber Security Assessment and Migration Engineer

Rate: Market

Location: Brooklyn, NY (Onsite/Hybrid)

Duration: Long term

Key Responsibilities:
  • Consolidate the ENS and Rapid7 capability into the Vulnerability Management (VM) program.
  • Ensure Public Safety VM program is positioned to support the NG9-1-1 system, manage the primary interface between McAfee Team and the various Agency Support Groups via weekly Endpoint Committee meetings
  • Support the ELCS program through inclusion to the VM program, manage initial VM scanning and generate report to support ECLS.
  • Support Public Safety Infosec NG9-1-1 with participation and presentation at bi-weekly PSR program meetings/updates.
  • Participate in meetings for Class 1, 2, and 3 of SRR, PDR, and CDR.
  • Participate in the development of capital deliverables for Class 1, 2, 3, and Call Handling.
  • Coordinate and obtain executive support for the integration of appropriate security solutions to the NG9-1-1 system.


Mandatory:
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in a particular technical and/or business application, product, platform, methodology or skill set.
  • Experience with Cybersecurity, including vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, security assessments, strategy and program development, network architecture designs, and monitoring solutions.
  • Extensive experience in the following technology areas: Public Safety systems, Quality Assurance, Systems Design, Development, Integration and Testing.


Desired:
  • Experience with Cybersecurity standards and best practices and how to integrate them.
  • Strong background with next generation firewall products, intrusion detection systems, DMZ, IPSec, DNS, SMTP, HTTP proxies, etc..
  • Knowledge of security best practices across multiple platforms, such as Microsoft Windows, VMWare, Cisco IOS, and Mobile OS Android/Apple IOS.
  • Knowledge of security best practices: NIST, CIS, Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Checkpoint, Microsoft, Unix/Linux, etc.
  • Experience with evaluating security vulnerabilities, developing mitigation strategies, and implementing remediation.
  • Experience with at least two of the following vulnerability management tools: Rapid7, Tenable, Qualys, OpenVAS.
