Job Title: Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
Job Specialty: Rehab Services
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 8-hour days, Monday - Friday, with occasional weekend requirements
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week (Note: Guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation)
Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience
License: Active Maryland State License
Certifications:
- Active Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- Certified by the American Heart Association (AHA)
Must-Have:
- Candidate must reside more than 100 miles away from Salisbury
- Experience with orthopedic patients and working in joint camp settings
Job Description:
- Utilize knowledge and judgment to meet the treatment needs of patients and families.
- Handle significant pressure related to time management and accuracy in patient care.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills with patients, families, and medical staff.
- Maintain cooperative working relationships across departments.
- Assist with med-surg, decondition (surgical patients), ICU/MCICU (open heart) patients, and a large population of ortho patients.
- Responsible for managing and providing care to 12-15 patients per day.
- Use computerized documentation (EPIC system), with training provided.
- Adhere to dress code: khaki scrub bottoms with navy scrub tops.
