To Be Successful:
- Initiates, implements, and manages the plant maintenance program based on best practices in the food industry, with an emphasis on Red Light response/recovery and preventive/predictive maintenance.
- Competent in full utilization of ERP and computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), for proper traceability of maintenance expenditures, and reporting of detailed department and asset analysis
- Experience in Capital Expenditure Project Management with experience in developing and managing the following: 1) Detailed/itemized and accurate costs by project 2) Bidding out larger projects to potential vendors 3) Tracking actual costs to budget and making sure we do not have cost overruns 4) Accurate annual capital expense budget.
- Capable of creating detailed operational cost analysis via MS Excel (for similar software) for department, equipment and /or project review
- Has a big-picture mentality that can create a vision and mission for a maintenance tea.
- Minimum 6 Years' experience in engineering, maintenance, or project management for large manufacturing/industrial company
- Minimum BA Degree in Engineering or relevant field of study
- Competent in autocade, sketchup or any type of project software
- Establish and leverage external vendors, consultants and experts to enhance technical competence of the organization as a whole
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Sets overall maintenance department goals, processes, or procedures to accomplish company objectives.
- Plan, Staff and Lead Maintenance organization consisting of Maintenance manager, supervisor, and maintenance technicians. Write performance revies and resolve internal issues
- Participate in all safety programs as needed for the department, including but not limited to lock out/tag out, confined space entry, PSM/PHA, MSDS for material used in maintenance activities, and safety meetings. Ensure Safety Compliance and Conduct Accident Investigations.
- Monitors engineering aspects of the facility while maintaining food safety and food quality.
- Maintaining the calibration program and improve utilization of MP2.
- Review and recommend all outside vendors and contractors. Confer with VP Operations to negotiate contracts, budgets and bids.
- Write maintenance strategies to help with installation and commissioning guidelines.
- Work with maintenance team to achieve mechanical and electrical downtime to less than 3 % on all production equipment.
- Oversee Maintenance Manager to ensure the maintenance crews work efficiently for a 24/7 operation while maintaining a clean and organized shop.
- Provides technical oversight and coordination of project engineering work: through project coordination meetings and other means, monitors progress against project schedules and budgets; recommends allocation of resources as required to accomplish goals.
- Develop and maintain annual maintenance budget.
- Plan and execute projects assigned by the COO/ VP of Operations. Also oversees the completion of projects with Maintenance Manager including but not limited to delivery of parts and scheduling.
- Stay abreast of new technologies associated with the industry through training and technical manuals.

Education and Experience:
- Associate degree minimum
- At least 3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Prior experience in supervising maintenance personnel.
- Basic knowledge of electronic Preventive Maintenance & Inventory management systems. (i.e. MP2)
- Computer knowledge is essential.
- Electrical or Electronics knowledge is required.
- Assertive yet friendly personality who can work well with others and in a team environment.
- Great people skills and be passionate about food and ice cream.

- Ability to work at heights approaching 85 feet, with roof heights at 100 feet (no vertigo)
- Able to tolerate cold environments (cooler and warehouse)
Special Requirements:
- May require overtime as workload demands.
- Will be required to be on an on-call status
