Overview:
Our Legal Services Unit, part of Pembina's External Affairs Division, is expanding and looking for an experienced, business-minded and motivated Legal Counsel or Senior Legal Counsel to join our team. Reporting to Pembina's Associate General Counsel, the successful candidate will work as part of Pembina's in-house legal team providing legal support and services on a wide variety of securities, general corporate and commercial matters.

The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. Final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:
- Provide legal support and advice for financings and capital markets matters;
- Draft, coordinate and provide guidance on public disclosure documents;
- Advise and provide updates on corporate governance;
- Provide support on a variety of corporate matters, including tax, banking and corporate secretarial matters;
- Assist on commercial matters, including reviewing, negotiating and drafting commercial agreements; and
- Co-ordinate the use of outside counsel on various corporate and commercial matters.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of four years of legal experience in securities and corporate finance, gained either at a top-tier law firm or large in-house legal department;
- Involvement in project work, corporate/commercial or oil and gas law is an asset;
- Strong and effective written and verbal negotiation and communication skills;
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills;
- Strong leadership and facilitation skills with the ability to support group dynamics;
- Self-directed and motivated;
- Able to quickly modify work priorities to meet unexpected and sometimes competing deadlines;
- Knowledge of current industry standards and legislation to ensure practices are current and in compliance;
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a variety of people and job functions within the organization internally and externally;
- Advising and providing updates on emerging legal trends and issues applicable to subject matters relevant to the role;
