Job Description

As a Clinical Laboratory Scientist, you will play a vital role in the diagnosis and treatment of patients by performing a wide range of laboratory tests. You will be responsible for analyzing biological specimens, interpreting test results, and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory findings. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment, utilize advanced laboratory techniques, and make a significant impact on patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform complex laboratory tests on blood, body fluids, tissues, and other specimens to aid in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases.
  • Operate and maintain sophisticated laboratory equipment, including analyzers, microscopes, and automated systems, ensuring they are calibrated and functioning correctly.
  • Prepare and process specimens according to established protocols, including centrifugation, staining, and aliquoting, to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
  • Analyze and interpret test results, identifying any abnormalities or discrepancies, and report findings to physicians and healthcare providers in a timely manner.
  • Conduct quality control procedures to monitor the accuracy and precision of test results, troubleshoot issues, and take corrective actions when necessary.
  • Collaborate with other laboratory staff, including phlebotomists, lab assistants, and medical technologists, to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tests.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all laboratory activities, including test results, quality control data, and equipment maintenance logs, in compliance with regulatory requirements and laboratory policies.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of new testing procedures, protocols, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory services and patient care.
  • Stay current with advancements in clinical laboratory science, including new testing methods, technologies, and best practices, through continuing education and professional development.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols, including the proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials, to ensure a safe working environment for all laboratory staff.
