Job Title: Registered Nurse - Endocrinology RN
Job Specialty: Endocrinology
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 8-Hour Days
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience: Minimum 1 year of ambulatory clinic experience required, experience in endocrinology clinic preferred
License: RN South Dakota License
Certifications: BLS required for RN, LPN, and Medical Assistant. Certified Medical Assistant must have CMA certification from AAMA, AMT, NHA, NCCT, or AMCA.
Must-Have: Experience with EPIC in an ambulatory clinic required
Job Description:
- Work with endocrinology patients, including those with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes as well as thyroid conditions.
- Perform triage, patient education, and Epic Ambulatory InBasket work.
- Download insulin pumps and glucometers after completing necessary training.
- Room patients and assist as backup.
- Medical Assistants will room patients and must be skilled in using ambulatory EPIC. They should also be proficient in injections, EKG, and point-of-care testing.
- The clinic has its own lab department, facilitating phlebotomy support.
- Occasionally required to float to other areas.
- Participate in a facility and unit orientation dependent on specialty. Medical Assistant orientation is 3 days.
- Wear designated scrub colors: Navy Blue for RNs and Light Grey for MAs/CAs.
- Approval for time off granted by Supervisor.
