- Hybrid onsite in Waukegan IL (potential travel to MA or CA 3x per year, if that).
- Role:
- This group handles the "facilities management" and "facilities operations" of AbbVie's campus. They're responsible for global security/operations, health and safety of the sites, and facilities technologies (main area, Chicagoland, can extend to east and west coast).
- Note: do not target "titles" here - we are not looking for a straight PM here. Please target skillset.
- Required:
- Strong communication is key here - needs to be effective and clear with their communication and a "doer".
- Experience with physically implementing software upgrade solutions and networks, etc.
- Must have a strong resume (see notes above; very detail oriented and clean).
- Experience with various systems/facilities technologies (things that keeps sites running - alarms software, irrigation, fire-safety, HVAC, etc.).
- Experience owning applications and software in a manufacturing and/or laboratory setting.
- Will be overseeing the management of the IT processes for operations for AbbVie.
- Preferred:
- Experience with GXP / regulated environments is preferred.

Job Description:
- This position will be responsible for supporting facility/building technologies including traditional information technology applications, operations technology, instruments, and client-server applications.
- It will require hands-on work with applications, infrastructure, and networking, as well as support of GxP processes.
- It requires a strong knowledge of communications protocols, and the corresponding network security considerations.
- The role will be responsible also for creating strong institutional knowledge and work process documentation so that new team members can onboard successfully.
- Project-wise, there are several required installations and upgrades of applications in our facility technology space, and this role will give the person a chance to lead and execute.
- They will be expected to own small/medium projects end to end and follow our system lifecycle.
Years of experience/education and/or certifications required:
- At least 5 years of experience serving as a technical lead on complex projects
- At least 5 years of experience supporting GxP applications
- At least 5 years of experience writing and following system life cycle documentation and knowledge base solutions.
- Business analysis and some project management experience preferred

- Strong written & verbal communications skills and a bias towards good institutional knowledge
- Cooperation and stakeholder relationship management - works directly with business unit clients to understand specific business processes business drivers and business strategies across multiple business units; identifies and communicates resulting needs and opportunities for business process improvement that can be enabled via technology
- Strong technical background with focus on complex desktop clients and Operating Technology systems (building automation and control, fire systems, calibration).
- Deep experience with GxP global applications and facility solutions that require personal data compliance
- Experience troubleshooting and working with device communications protocols like BACnet.
- Initiative and self-starter that is motivated to do great work.
