Electrical Engineer

Electrical Engineer Livonia, MI / Pittsburgh, PA

Work Setup: Remote or Hybrid

Industry: Heavy Industrial / Power Distribution

Must-Have Skills:

3+ years of experience in Heavy Electrical Industrial projects

Experience designing MV & LV power distribution systems

Expertise in PLC, RTU & SCADA panel layout design

Stable work history (max 3 jobs in the last 10 years)

Responsibilities:

Design MV & LV power distribution systems for heavy industrial plants

Develop electrical, instrumentation, and control system plans

Create electrical layout drawings, single-line diagrams, conduit routing, lighting, grounding, and panel drawings

Conduct electrical calculations (voltage drop, cable sizing, raceway sizing)

Perform load flow, short circuit, arc flash, and device coordination studies using ETAP, Easypower, or SKM

Design layouts for PLC, RTU, & SCADA Panels

Prepare instrument index, I/O lists, and specifications

Ensure compliance with NEC, electrical design standards, and industrial regulations

Attend client, supplier, and design review meetings

Visit project sites as needed

Requirements:

Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology

3+ years of experience in heavy industrial electrical engineering

Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
