Position Summary
The Commercial Asset Manager is responsible for managing and optimizing wholesale power plant assets and will have a focus on completing daily settlements, day ahead and real time P&L formulation. This role involves active participation in daily portfolio set up and in supporting portfolio monetization in real time operations. This role will lead the commercial support of critical asset management fleet programs. The successful candidate will support the company's interest at the project level to assure maximum profitability and return on investment including participation in the asset schedule, budget process and developing commercial tools to measure critical fleet programs in real-time.

Position Responsibilities
- Provide daily P&L and Portfolio position report; roll up to Monthly P&L.
- Partner with Asset Management team to ensure alignment on commercial goals for fleet programs to deliver on portfolio P&L objectives.
- Confirm settlement invoices with commercial counterparties (power, gas, gas transport, etc.).
- Produce monthly AMA report
- Produce monthly support of plant operations and regulatory reporting (e.g., EIG 923).
- Coordinate with EMA manager on daily bidding strategy, hedging (daily and term), fuel, optimization strategies.
- Coordinate with Plant Operations on daily bidding.
- Review settlement information and identify areas for improvement.
- Review transmission outages and congestion.
- Foster a culture of teamwork and collaboration between Asset Management and Commercial resources.
Required Qualifications
- Engineering, business, finance or economics degree or other, related technical field.
- At least three (3) years of asset management or commercial dispatch experience in the wholesale power sector
- Daily financial settlement experience.
- Proven experience improving and maintaining wholesale power plant profitability.
- Analytical experience developing measurement tools to track operational changes, such as dispatching power augmentation.
- Excellent commercial skills and a proven track record in planning, budgeting and financial assessment of power plant assets.
- Analytical data driven experience in assessing problems, identifying drivers and determining solutions / adjustments to address.
- Financial/Operational experience in terms of understanding the linkages between daily dispatch and operational constraints as understood in communication with operations, remote operations center and energy managers.
- Organized and systematic approach to tasks requiring a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
- Collaborate with Asset Management to identify, mitigate and manage generation portfolio risk.
- Technical competence (understand software, hardware, networks, etc.) and an ability to optimize a system of managing daily dispatch and P&L formulation that is largely currently spreadsheet based.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills as well as strong presentation skills.
- Must read, write and speak fluent English.
- Successful candidate will need to satisfactorily complete pre-employment drug screen and background check
- US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa.
Desired Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering, Business, Economics and/or Finance.
- Demonstrated experience with strategic planning, budget management, collaborative work initiatives and working effectively with multiple business functions.
- Direct experience in ERCOT, which could include commercial or asset management.
- Past experience with complying to ERCOT rules and regulations, ability to provide feedback on new regulations.
- Past experience in managing and adapting in a fast-paced business environment and driving the development of critical business tools to support rapid portfolio growth.
- Preference will be given to candidates with five (5) plus years of experience.
- Valid US passport and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
