Summary/Objective/Purpose:
The Human Resources Manager position ensures HR strategy aligns with the business plants and strategic objectives. This is a hands-on role with ensuring there is balance of workload with the HR team including within the Human Resources position.
In addition, there is a wide range of functions and expectations including business partnership and guidance, labor relations, supporting organization design & effectiveness, talent management/employee development, employee relations, HR policies, processes, & procedures, legal compliance and company culture.
As with each role with the Company, everyone is responsible to ensure a safe and clean working environment.

Essential Functions
Safety
- Champions a safe work environment and demonstrates effectual leadership. Promotes reporting of safety issues and ensures appropriate follow-up.
Labor Relations
- Responsible for administration of union contract in a fair and consistent manner. Member of union contract negotiating team.
Strategic Alignment
- Partners with Plant Management and Leadership on short-term, midterm and long-range plan development. Identifies implications for organizational strategy along with recommendations to support longer term business growth. Collaborates with plant management to identify change management implications and leads change.
Organization Design & Effectiveness
- Consults with and advises plant leadership on organizational design that will enable the business to operate effectively. This includes evaluating work structure, job design, and people power forecasting, interdependencies, and role and responsibility clarity.
- Proactively identifies organizational needs (talent assessment, team effectiveness, staffing, etc.) and develops strategies for resolving and addressing needs.Develop/administer employee performance management process and provide training and support in all components of performance management.
Talent Management / Employee Development / Full Cycle Recruiting
- Actively participates with business leadership to source, evaluate, select and on-board talent. Have a complete grasp on the full cycle recruiting process, determine staffing needs, write and/or update job descriptions, posting positions, sourcing candidates, conduct and support the sourcing, phone screening and interviewing of salaried candidates
- Assesses organizational capabilities and identifies gaps. Coaches business leaders and their teams on the development of others. Helps identify development opportunities for talent within the business unit and tracks progress on development action plans. Consults on succession plans.Leads and facilitates management team in HR planning, assessment and succession plan reviews.
Compensation
- Supports in development and administration of job evaluations, wage ranges and annual merit review programs, using relevant market data as needed to maintain competitiveness. Coordinates with Central and Corporate as required.
Technical HR Support
- Directs, recommends, and proactively communicates appropriate local implementation of HR policies, practices, and initiatives. Ensures legal and regulatory compliance, including wage and hour, and work authorization.
- Will design, implement and communicate local policies and practices. Requires a proactive approach to ensure the right HR policies exist and are sound.
HR Operations
- Fosters continuous improvement by analyzing processes, monitoring effectiveness, and identifying actions to reduce complexity and/or enhance operational performance. Utilizes data to drive decisions and ensure accurate recordkeeping/data integrity is maintained. May process payroll for single/multiple sites or business units.
Company Culture
- In concert with management, builds and champions a positive employee culture. Champions diversity and inclusion goals, strategies and plans. Actively participates in Employee Communications. Provides high-touch HR support to the business. Oversees company and community events.

Work Environment
- This job operates in an office and plant environment. Able to maneuver around the plant floor to conduct tours, rapport-building, and employee discussions. This is a full-time, exempt position. It is expected to work a minimum of 40 hours per week. Must be flexible with hours and days to accommodate our multi-shift workforce.

- Minimum of bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
- 5+ years of experience in HR Generalist/HR leadership positions including policy administration, compensation, and benefits.
- Experience in all facets of human resources including knowledge of recruitment processes, benefit and compensation administration, employee relations, and legal compliance requirements.
- Ability to use good judgment and discretion with highly confidential business and employee information.
- Approachable, inspires trust and confidence. Ability to use good judgment and discretion with highly confidential business and employee information.
- Independent and organized work style: Effectively manage time and prioritize workload, assume and manage multiple tasks without close supervision, adapt to change, and consistently meet deadlines.

Qualifications Desired:
- Master's degree or equivalent required.
- 7+ years of experience in HR Generalist/HR leadership positions.
- SHRM and/or HRCI certifications or equivalent certifications based on region.
