Position

The Trust & Estate Advisor is responsible for working with team members of the Rockefeller Trust Companies in reviewing trusts, wills and other contractual documents in connection with the inter-generational transfer of wealth. This role is a key member of the collaborative, team-centric approach to client servicing across the Wealth Management division and participating in business development efforts.

Responsibilities

  • The main responsibility of this position is to support the Head of Trust and Estate Advisory in managing day-to-day legal questions in connection with fiduciary accounts, particularly as they may relate to Delaware trust law, and in managing the legal due diligence required for onboarding of new fiduciary accounts. This will include the responsibility of drafting trust summaries, legal review forms, receipt and releases, and/or agreements in connection with fiduciary account administration such as fee agreements and delegation agreements
  • Apply knowledge of fiduciary account management, taxations, securities transfer, and state and federal laws governing trusts and estates to balance the interests of the client, protect account assets, and minimize risk
  • Work with Advisors of the firm to answer questions regarding engagement of the trust companies, particularly as it relates to future appointments
  • Assist in managing fiduciary relationships and apply knowledge of fiduciary and estate planning strategies to benefit current and prospective clients


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • JD required/LLM preferred
  • Previous experience working with trusts is required, previous experience
  • drafting trusts is preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in trust servicing and administration


Skills

  • Strong organization skills, attention to detail and the ability to multitask and reprioritize within tight deadlines
  • Ability to self-start and identify areas to assist
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills on complex matters, both written and oral
  • Extensive knowledge of the trust and estate business


Compensation Range

The anticipated base salary range for this role is $140,000 to $150,000. Base salary for the role will depend on several factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience, and may fall outside of the range shown. In addition, this role may be eligible for a discretionary bonus.
