Job Announcement
The Fairfax County Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court (JDRDC) has jurisdiction over juvenile matters, offenses committed by adults against juveniles (youth under the age of 18), and family matters, except divorce, in Fairfax County, the City of Fairfax, and the towns of Herndon, Vienna and Clifton. JDRDC is committed to the One Fairfax initiative, which promotes racial and social equity in services and employment practices.
Under the supervision of the HR Manager, assists the HR team with recruitment, employee relations, and assisting the Training Specialist III with trainings, as necessary. Assists with managing FMLA, ADA/Reasonable Accommodation, and Workers' Compensation issues as they arise.
Ensures that all employee files are accurate and that all documentation for both county and DJJ guidelines and assists with audits. Will be responsible for ongoing review of employee personnel files to ensure all documentation is saved accurately, main point of contact for Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court (JDRDC) HR inquiries. Coordinates review of all JDRDC hiring packets and responsible for scanning packets back to DHR. In coordination with Fairfax County Courthouse Sheriff's Office, assists all JDRDC staff in obtaining proxy card and ID badge for employees. Additionally, this position is responsible for the Volunteer and Intern program of agency wide multiple functions related to internships and volunteers in order to support the JDRDC mission and vision. For the volunteer program, supervises volunteer positions, interns and employees affiliated with the program services as appropriate.
Coordinates all aspects of the volunteer program including recruitment, background checks, interviews, record-keeping and ensuring we are in compliance with state, county and agency policies; data management; performance measures, recognition, training, and other related duties. Evaluate and create strategies to improve volunteer and intern retention. Represent the agency on county-wide initiatives, works closely with Volunteer Fairfax and other agency volunteer program managers on county-wide volunteer initiatives and related policies and standards.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- This position is considered Emergency Service Personnel to ensure the continuity of essential operations, and will be required to report to work during times designated countywide as approved for unscheduled leave regardless of the emergency situation (i.e., weather, transportation, other disaster).
- This position is designated as confidential under the county's Collective Bargaining Ordinance. This position assists and acts in a confidential capacity to persons who formulate, determine, and effectuate management policies with regard to labor relations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
