Marquee Brands is looking for a smart, enthusiastic, creative and highly motivated corporate counsel with keen judgment and the ability to thrive in a premier in-house role. As an attorney on our legal team, you'll manage intellectual property matters for our growing portfolio of fashion and lifestyle brands. You'll interact directly with our business development and brand teams to develop and implement strategies to identify licensing opportunities and protect the brands, trademarks, copyrights, patents and domain names. Responsibilities include direct management of clearance, prosecution, maintenance and enforcement of our growing US and foreign trademark portfolio, client counseling, licensing, developing, and implementing intellectual property protection policies, and educating and coaching the business on intellectual property matters. Additionally, you will draft, review, negotiate and advise on related contracts including license agreements and other agreements related to our business.

Here's what you will do here:
- Responsibilities include direct management of clearance, prosecution, maintenance and enforcement of our growing US and foreign trademark portfolio, client counseling, licensing, developing, and implementing intellectual property protection policies, and educating and coaching the business on intellectual property matters.
- Manage outside IP counsel and domain name registrars.
- Negotiate and draft intellectual property and complex commercial agreements including licenses, partnership, vendor, marketing, and non-disclosure agreements as well as uniquely solutioned agreements premised on business needs. This also includes providing support to our internal teams on contract interpretation.
- Implement brand protection programs in specific jurisdictions within the construct of the global company strategy including cease and desist letters, notice and takedown requests, commercial correspondence, and negotiating settlements.
- Communicate and collaborate with all business stakeholders across our fashion and luxury brand portfolio to understand business objectives and provide legal advice, with an emphasis on intellectual property and risk management.
- Advise internal stakeholders, including senior leadership, on approaches to negotiation and settlements.

You're going to need this to carry out this job
- J.D. and bar membership in good standing in New York.
- At least 4 years of hands-on IP experience at a law firm and/or equivalent in-house experience at a consumer products, fashion, media/entertainment, or technology company including experience managing a large trademark portfolio, consisting of domestic and foreign marks, trademark search and clearance, trademark prosecution/counseling/strategy, trademark litigation and brand enforcement
- Experience with data security/privacy and digital and direct-to-consumer sales will be a strong advantage.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required.
