Description:
The Regina Correctional Center is seeking a responsible, highly motivated Deputy Director of Standards and Communications at their facility. Reporting to the Correctional Centre Director, you will provide leadership and direction in the areas of policy development and implementation, ensuring compliance with provincial policy and standards.
As part of the Correctional Centre Management team, you will be involved in strategic planning initiatives that contribute to the effective operation of the Centre.

As part of the Correctional Centre Management team, you will be involved in strategic planning initiatives that contribute to the effective operation of the Centre.
You will be responsible for:
- development and implementation of operational policy and procedures in a large and complex institutional setting. The position is expected to ensure effective provincial policy and standards compliance and consistent application of the Correctional Services Administration Act and Regulations ; and
- oversight and direction of inmate healthcare services within a matrix reporting relationship with the Correctional Centre Director and the Director of Health Services.
The successful candidate will have knowledge of:
- The Criminal Justice System , its philosophies and perspectives the role of Corrections in the larger system and how it relates and interacts with other components;
- corrections principles, legislative requirements, policies, procedures, mandates and programs and understanding of institutional culture;
- inmate healthcare priorities in order to ensure adequate resources and services;
- multi-cultural beliefs, values and perspectives particularly for Mtis and First Nations people; and
- purpose and framework of a collective agreement in an unionized environment.
