General Duties: The HR Director manages all aspects of Human Resources to ensure the organization's legal compliance and promote a positive working environment for staff. The successful candidate is trustworthy, organized, and approachable, and cultivates healthy relationships across the organization.
Areas of Responsibility
The HR Director is supervised and evaluated by the Head of School.
Commitment Required
This full-time exempt, year-round position works 40 hours per week. (Schedule modified on school breaks.)

Job Description - HR Director
General Duties: The HR Director manages all aspects of Human Resources to ensure the organization's legal compliance and promote a positive working environment for staff. The successful candidate is trustworthy, organized, and approachable, and cultivates healthy relationships across the organization.
Areas of Responsibility
- Manage benefits administration, including insurance coverage and 403(b)
- Oversee and execute each step of the hiring process, including job descriptions, postings, and offer letters
- Coordinate onboarding, offboarding, and all associated legal documents
- Maintain the Employee Handbook, and other policies and procedures manuals
- Monitor background checks for employees and volunteers
- Maintain personnel records, including evaluations
- Additional items as requested by administration
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field required;
- Master's degree in business or related field preferred
- SHRM Certification and minimum of 3 years HR experience highly preferred
- Exhibits versatility using technology; proficiency with Excel highly preferred
- Displays a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills
- Effectively manages time and prioritizes work appropriately
- Professional appearance and attitude
- Shows evidence of spiritual maturity and has a personal Christian testimony
- Attends a church with a doctrinal statement consistent with that of Lakewood Park
- Understands and protects the confidential nature of the information entrusted to him/her
- Values life-long learning and has a teachable spirit
- Works well both independently and in a team environment
- Dependable, arriving on time, and working the expected hours each week
- Able to climb stairs, stand, sit, walk, kneel, bend, push, pull, and reach a chalkboard height
- Can lift, lower, or carry up to twenty pounds
- Tolerates occasional interruptions, noise, high stress, and outdoor duty in temperatures that may exceed 90 degrees fahrenheit or be lower than 50 degrees fahrenheit
- Able to operate a copier, telephone, computer, printer, calculator, and AV equipment
- Has manual dexterity, eye/hand coordination, and visual acuity (both near and far)
- Can speak and hear clearly and communicate data
