SPECIFIC PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Construction Planner-Scheduler, (CPS) to develop and maintain the EPC project schedule for a
greenfield construction of a new process manufacturing plant in the midwest. Total site
construction over $550MM. The CPS will act as Owner's agent to plan, develop, and maintain the
EPC schedule. The CPS will work as part of an overall CM team that directs the construction of the
new manufacturing site. The CPS will work with CM Team superintendents, as well as the CM
Team's Lead Site Construction Manager, Project Cost Lead, Quality Lead, and Site Safety Manager.
The CPS will also work with Owner personnel who are on site overseeing the project construction.
The CPS is required to relocate to the project site. The CPS will receive monthly and daily per diem
according to the Project Construction Management contract that covers all travel and living
expenses while relocated.

JOB SUMMARY: The CPS is responsible for the pre-construction planning and constructability
evaluation of client projects - focus on industrial manufacturing. CPSs are an integral part of an
EPC (Engineer, Procure, Construct) project team. CPS communicate with owner's, engineering
team members, project and construction managers, project procurement, and subcontractors.
The CPS has strong communication skills and is highly organized. The CPS is expected to
deliver all necessary aspects of construction planning including project scheduling, construction
sequencing, constructability input of engineering designs, and materials management.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The responsibilities listed are fundamental to the position and
must be performed successfully to achieve the key performance objectives of the role. Other

Maintains effective and professional communication and coordinates work schedule with
operations and project personnel
Strong constructability knowledge, able to conduct constructability reviews of engineering
designs with owner and engineering team members.
Create and maintain project construction schedules - Proficient in Microsoft Project and
Primavera.
Develop construction planning documents - Microsoft Office Applications
Work with Project Management and Project Accounting to develop and manage progress
tracking and earned value systems for all EPC project phases.
Participate in Design Build Plus and Plus Group proposal teams to provide input to
estimates, pre-construction and construction management services, as well as assist with
construction capital cost evaluations.
Review construction scope of work packages for development of project engineering,
procurement, and construction (EPC) project schedules.
Coordinate with project procurement to incorporate equipment and material lead times into
overall construction schedules and plans.
Participate in pre-construction site visits for scope and constructability evaluations.
Maintains construction schedule during construction phase - typically on larger projects
Site visits during construction to support schedule and alignment with construction plan
Work with project and estimating resources to provide input for estimated construction costs
Provide input to project team on impact of change to the construction plan
Provide input to Plus Group Project Manager for Project Status Reports

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Good interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills. Strong organizational
and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and various managers in a fast paced environment.
Evaluates engineering and construction change order requests against construction
documents, original contracts, and supplemental agreements.
Represents Plus Group in contract interpretation, negotiates additional fees and
prepares required documents to communicate and confirm changes with all parties.

Education/Experience
Two-or-four-year degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
and/or 10 or more years' experience in the field of engineering and/or construction
management which includes, but is not limited to, leadership in the Chemicals,
Consumer Goods, Food & Beverage or Pharmaceutical industries preferred.
Experience working in a team environment of a multi-discipline engineering firm or
design-build firm is preferred, but not required.

SOFTWARE:
Advanced skills with Primavera, Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, Outlook, and
PowerPoint
Not required but a positive - Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), BIM360, Procore,
Sharepoint, and other similar project execution platforms.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Working Hours/Environment
Hours average 40 per week; may require additional hours including evening and
weekends depending on business needs.
Work typical performed in an indoor office setting/client site.

Travel: Typical - up to 50% of the time, a higher percentage may be required.

NOTE - Majority of travel would include pre-construction site visits to support construction
planning or to support proposals for new EPC project opportunities.

Physical Demands:
Frequently required to sit at a desk/workstation for long period of time.
Ability to work at a computer terminal for extended periods of time.
Light Lifting up to 20 lbs.
Ability to speak to and hear employees/clients via phone or in person.
Body motor skills sufficient to enable incumbent to move around an office environment.
Body motor skills sufficient to enable incumbent to move around in an industrial
construction and manufacturing environment.
Ability to analyze unique situations and develop appropriate response.
