Role Overview
The Senior Marketing Manager at Advantage Capital helps oversee and implement strategic marketing initiatives that amplify and advance the firm's approach to investing in small businesses, financing affordable housing and expanding renewable energy access. This role works to increase awareness, consideration and ultimately advocacy for the firm, its funds and its impact.
Working cross-functionally across the firm, and connecting closely with business development and government affairs teams, the Sr. Marketing Manager promotes and protects the Advantage Capital brand and reputation with outbound stakeholder engagement activities that influence intended audiences.
This position manages two team members and reports to the Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications.
Strategic Vision & Planning
Develop strategic plans that align marketing efforts with business development goals that engage policy makers, attract investors, influence community partners and generate deal leads.
Oversee the planning and execution of multi-channel campaigns that leverage digital, social media, email outreach, print materials and paid promotion to pass bills, engage investors and deliver deals.
Brand Management & Content Creation
Maintain and enhance the firm's brand platform - including oversight and implementation of messaging, visual identity and value proposition communication across materials and channels.
Oversee that creation of high-impact, customer-facing materials, including annual reports, presentations, corporate collateral, social media content, case studies and much more.
Storytelling & Sales Enablement
Work closely with the Government Affairs team to position and promote programs. Work closely with Capital Markets, Investment Group (and others) to translate complex concepts into narratives and visuals for diverse audiences.
Support business development teams with targeted messaging and market insights. Develop sales tools, including capabilities decks, web pages, email campaigns and webpages that drive lead generation and consideration for services.
Project & People Management
Lead creative production from conception to completion - mapping out deliverables and deadlines that accomplish approved objectives with tangible, traceable outputs and outcomes.
Mange internal contributors and external vendors to execute on approved agendas and activities - tracking and reporting progress and performance.
Monitoring & Measurement
Help direct the Content Manager and Impact Analyst in measuring and regularly reporting results.
Assess website, paid promotion and SEO performance; adjust strategies as appropriate.
Other Important Items Under Scope
Industry conference coordination and execution support.
Budget management and allocation recommendations.
Website strategy and maintenance.
Video strategy and distribution.
Visual design.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications or related field.
Six or more years of relevant experience in marketing communications or related field.
Ability to operate within matrixed organization, managing multiple projects and stakeholders.
Strategic plan development and presentation development experience.
Strong writing, content development, interpersonal and organizational skills.
Working knowledge of CRM tools and measurement software.
Strong design and brand management skills. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
Agency management experience.
Finance/investment industry experience.
Online advertising experience. Search engine optimization campaign experience.
This position will play an integral role in supporting growing business lines within the firm and expanding marketing and communications services internally. We are seeking a strategic self-starter that can balance big-picture creativity with hands-on design and program implantation experience.
