PAY RANGE: Licensed Salary Schedule, $60,004 - $124,634 Annual Salary
CALENDAR: 190 Days
REPORTS TO: School Director/Principal

QUALIFICATIONS:
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIREMENTS:Articulate and act on a personal vision that directly relates to the district's vision of Superior Quality Education for All. Identifies and addresses the diverse needs of learners in order to provide expanded opportunities and support for learner success. Establishes and maintains a strong collaborative and consultative working relationship with staff and parents. Exhibits commitments and competencies ensuring an integrated delivery model of service, including the demonstration of skills in developing and delivering counseling services. Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to the IEP process and a standards-based system of designing and delivering services and assessments. Demonstrates and models' high expectations for all students to succeed. Understands that Special Education paperwork is an essential part of the position; organizes and completes paperwork on time and documents important events and contacts. Demonstrates effective time management, including completion of assessments, evaluations, and special education paperwork. Attends and/or facilitates student centered/parent friendly IEP meetings. Works collaboratively with administration, school, and District staff. Provides professional staff development as needed. Provides direct services to students and communicates effectively with parents. Supports behavior interventions for students and provides staff with effective strategies and interventions as needed. Understands and complies with all state and federal rules and regulations. Must be flexible and or adaptable to changing needs of schools, students, and meeting schedules.
NOTE: Special Education staff are hired and assigned to schools and programs based on the level and type of student needs. Staff members may be reassigned or released in accordance with applicable law and policy, when any of the following occur: program modification, enrollment decline, or change in level and/or type of student needs.
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
Special Education staff are hired and assigned to schools and programs based on the level and type of student needs. Special Education assignments may require training from the Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) on non-verbal de-escalation and physical restraint. The District will provide the training/certification at no-cost to the employee and in accordance with Board Policy. New employees in assignments in which CPI is required will attend training within 30-45 days of their start date and will be required to attend a refresher course every 18-24 months.

- Must hold a Special Services Provider license from the Colorado Department of Education with a School Psychologist or School Social Worker endorsement.
- Additional endorsement in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education preferred, *or willingness to pursue endorsement or equivalent coursework. *
