We are seeking a Principal Process Engineer to work out of either Bloomington, MN; Marshall, MN; or Sioux Falls, SD. In this high visibility role, you will be the driving force in identification, development, improvement, and testing of complex, new and break through food processing techniques. This role will provide mentoring and coaching to team members and will be an expert across multiple areas.

The base salary range for this position is $104,625 to $174,375 annually with eligibility for a 15% annual incentive bonus that is based on organizational performance. The pay range represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to education, skills, work experience, certifications, geography etc. As such, starting pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Education: Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Food, Chemical, or Mechanical) required. Masters degree preferred.
Years of Experience: 7-9 years of related experience
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Working knowledge of R&D product development flow from conception to product launch.Working knowledge of a research and development organization. Ability to produce conceptual drawing with a CADprogram. Ability to develop Process Flow Diagram (PFD). Ability to develop Process & Instrumentation Diagram (P &ID). Ability to perform cycle time study. Ability to perform pay- back calculation. Ability to write preliminarycapital proposals. Ability to develop instrument specification with ISA (Instrument Society of American) format orequivalent. Ability to perform sizing and specification of equipment. Working experience in establishing PLCcontrol set-up. Working experience in reading electrical schematic drawing. Working experience in reading ladderlogic. Advanced PC skills including Windows environment: word processing, CAD program, and spreadsheet. Effectiveinterpersonal and written communication skills. Ability to obtain and maintain valid drivers license. Advanceddegree preferred; ability to taste and ingest any type of food product currently under development

Responsibilities:
- Develops and commercializes new and breakthrough process technology to enable new product introduction, process efficiency improvements and cost reduction projects that support existing and future business plans
- Develops manufacturing options including evaluation of both internal and external plants and defines the process design strategy and operating conditions that delivers on key product attributes, cost, and all manufacturing KPIs.
- Leads development of all technical documentation, including line visualization, process flow diagram, process specifications, process gap analysis, design basis, and manufacturing process control plans
- Expert at advanced statistics, experimental designs (DOE) and six sigma in problem solving.
- Mentors and coaches team members within the technical community of the company.
- Drives cross functional one table one team mindset across assignments with functions in R&D, Manufacturing and Business Units
- Effectively influences sell and obtain buy-in for new and breakthrough technologies
- Effectively leads cross functional teams on large or complex projects
- Effective communicator, who can develop and present preliminary capital proposals of new processing technology, equipment, or cost reduction opportunities including determination of ROI
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Science in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical or Food) combined with 8+ years of related experience. Master's of Science in Engineering preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in consumer-packaged goods (CPG) a big plus!
- Highly effective communicator of technical information with clarity with all levels of the organization both verbal and written communication
- Working knowledge of Process Development Engineering; Product development process, and stage gate process; Project Management;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, Minitab, SolidWorks and AutoCAD. 3D printing experience is a plus.
- Incorporates a high level of technical knowledge & expertise into decisions.
- Ability to develop and execute Commissioning, Qualification and Verification protocols.
